As an artist, many people know me primarily through my musical work as a songwriter, singer, composer, and DJ. However, what some may not realize is that visual art has been a central part of my creative journey since the very beginning of my career. Whether through video or photography, I have always sought to tell stories and convey emotions visually, complementing my musical creations.
On this page, I invite you to explore another side of my universe: my books. Here, you’ll find works that reflect both my visual and literary endeavors. Some are photography books, where each image captures a moment, an atmosphere, or an idea that has inspired me. Through this book, Sonikem brings together 160 portraits, an intimate and powerful testament to several years of work, encounters, and artistic exploration carried out for the magazine he founded.
Far more than a simple photographic collection, this project celebrates cultural and creative diversity, the blending of styles and voices, and pays tribute to the artists who shared their stories in front of his lens. -
THE SOUND OF TOKYO
I started photography during a trip to Cameroon in 2009, and I’ve never stopped since.
Surprisingly, I had never taken the time to capture Japan, a fascinating and intriguing country that I’ve been traveling to regularly for the past eight years. During my two most recent trips, I felt the need to change that, and this is how my very first photo book dedicated to Tokyo was born. -

Rhymes and Poetry, the debut collection by Sonikem The Genius, brings together three years of writing and concludes with the lyrics from his album Shin Jidai.
